21-Day Detox Challenge – Day 4 Planning: No Goal No Gain

October 14, 2010 by Julette Leave a Comment

Hello!

This message is part of the pre-work for the 21-Day Detox Challenge – Mind, Body & Spirit. All previous messages can be found here.  The Facebook event is here and the video introduction is here. You can still join – we begin on October 18th.

Today is day 4 of planning and preparation and I’d like you to recall an earlier request.

When you viewed the video outlining the guidelines of this detox you were asked to write in “The Book” what your intentions were for this program.

You were asked to:

Write:
1. Your specific intention – What are you trying to have happen in your life with this detox?

2. WHY …SO important…WHY is that outcome important to you? And WHO will benefit?

We return to this because it is essential.  If you haven’t done it, please do. If you’re doing this detox just for fun and you really have little to no expectations of lasting impact on your life, then having a goal – not so necessary.  But if you have a desire – spoken or buried to have your mind, body and spirit truly cleared of some baggage so that you can soar to another level of living then having a goal/clear intention is necessary.  If you want the impact to last, you must be willing to put the work in ahead of time.

So today,

  • Reflect on your intention.
  • Review what you wrote, refine it where necessary.
  • Be as specific as you can get.

A vague goal will receive vague results. When the golfer or basketball player makes a shot – they have to see that goal, the hole and the basket crystal clear in their mind as they release or strike.  They have to bring their body, thoughts and actions into alignment. Anything less is depending on luck to score.

See your intentions, understand the ‘why’ and ‘who’ behind them.

Writing “I want to better at_______” is NOT specific.  Define ‘better’ and state why and who.  Take the why and peel it back…going further and further towards the deeper truth.

Here’s a good example of step #1: “I intend to clear my thinking of recurring negative thoughts, replacing them with positive thoughts and actions; gain the energy needed to manage my daily household and family needs, without loosing my joy; and to learn more about peace and stillness and how to find it at will. My intention is to have these outcomes last.”

Step #2:  “These outcomes are important to me because negative thoughts kill my productivity and joy and my mission in life requires outrageous productivity and unceasing joy.  I will be the first to benefit; my family and friends, colleagues and customers will benefit immediately after.  Eventually, the people served by my mission (young girls who were abused) will benefit as I will be more capable of helping them at my highest and best.  They will be able to move on and have healthy lives so their families and friends (now and in the future) will also benefit from me achieving my goals with this 21-day detox challenge.”

Massage your intention and get it to say EXACTLY what you are trying to accomplish. The more it reflects your deepest wish, the more motivated you will be to complete this challenge at your highest and best.

All program downloads can be found here (chart of challenges, self-evaluation,  agreement form and handy checklist of preparation exercises)

Wishing you a truly magnificent day!
