Preparing for 21-Day Detox Challenge – First Things First

December 3, 2010 by Julette Leave a Comment

Hello!

I hope you are getting more and more enthusiastic and committed to this journey…the more personal commitment you muster the more magnificent outcomes you will produce!

On Day 1 of preparing and planning, 2 days ago, I suggested you be aware of those areas you wished to focus on during this 21-day detox, be still and listen to your inner guidance. [the actual 21-day detox challenge, with 21 challenges begins next Wednesday – December 8th]

God is spirit so a detox program that includes a spiritual component is a program placing God right in the center: Especially if we accept the right order of things.  To detox ourselves in the order that is most effective, we must place first things first.

Getting toxins out of our body while leaving the mind filled with negative thoughts can have no good outcome. Likewise, getting all those thoughts re-configured while the spirit remains unsettled and uncommitted to a life that is God/Love centered, will be short-lived ‘positive thinking’ that is circular.  By ‘circular’ I mean just that; not attending to spiritual development keeps us going in circles with positive thinking,  back-sliding to negativity, positive thinking, a little frustration, more positive thoughts, then another bout of negativity, then again and again and again.

It’s the spiritual foundation of our life we must treat as the priority and what must come first.  With that understanding and focus, you have the power to use this program to take your life to a consistently blissful place.

So if you’re ready, let’s get started!

Let’s start with these three foundational action steps:

A)      Print and review the downloads and watch the video again…focusing on the spiritual challenges.  Determine your level of commitment to 21 days of taking those specific actions.  Anything less than full commitment is something to sit still with and pray about.

B)      Start “The Book” – your notebook dedicated to this journey. This is where you can do all the exercises and explore your thoughts each day (A workbook is being created and as soon as it’s available, you’ll be the first to get access)

C)      Consider who will be your accountability partner – reach out and confirm their availability. This person will help to keep you on track, motivated and inspired to keep going when the challenges hit. They will. This person must agree to be positive and encouraging but hold you to your high standards.

Then,  getting more specific and making use of  “the book” please do the following:

  1. Begin a food log in your journal – recording the items you consume with relative quantities
  2. Think of how you will get your 30 minutes of activity done 5x per week – think also of the resistance you will have and have a plan for action IN SPITE of resistance and emotion s
  3. Finish this sentence…I am assuming outrageous success with this 21-day detox program because I am bringing this to the table:________________________________.
  4. Begin reflecting on your self-talk…what is your inner dialogue like? Are you mostly supporting yourself or are you filled with doubt about completing this challenge at your highest and best? Spend 3 minutes of each hour, watching and observing your spontaneous thoughts…then spend a few minutes recording what you observed
  5. Make a list of the top five most inspiring people you know and can have conversations with during this program
  6. Make a list of the top five things you LOVE to do for fun…positive things that pick you up
  7. Review your self-eval and circle and place a big star next to the items with a rating of 9 or higher – these are your areas of strength; place a box around those items with less – this is where you are ‘boxed in’ and over the next 21 days, need to BUST OUT!
  8. Share those stars and boxes with others – you’ll be amazed at how much freedom we gain by sharing and helping others!
  9. Spend a few minutes (2-4) being still and just let your imagination go free with what your world will be like when the intention/goal you have set for this program’s impact on your life is realized
  10. Prepare yourself to have a tremendous amount of fun and excitement as you take these action steps. Prepare as if you are going on a much anticipated trip, exploring and uncovering the gems of your unique brilliance.

This journey will be what you DECIDE it will be.

Wishing you an abundance of joy & light,

Julette Millien
