Setting Goals & Gratitude

Breathtaking-Scenery with-gratitude quote

Hello My Friend,

Some morning musings to share 🙂

I love this quote above.  It made made me wonder though – are the desires of our heart not a good thing?  Surely that can’t be the main message of the wise Epicurus. I believe the point of substance here is: don’t desire what you don’t have to the point of spoiling what you do have. The burning interest and joy in/of a thing, person or accomplishment should not end upon achievement.

It’s a true sign of maturity to be able to be fully present, in joy and in gratitude, for all we currently have in our life.

When we pine ( an unhealthy amount of desire) for things, situations or outcomes, we take aware from the gratitude and joy of the moment.

It’s about balance…

Striking a balance between gratitude and growth… of course improving, striving, growing, learning, are all necessary.

Grow while grateful though. Strive while satisfied…what a sweet spot to live in!

Be present, in this moment, grateful for present blessings THEN let new goals spring from that soil of gratitude.
Growth and gratitude – they track together. Goals and desire sowed in the fertile soil of gratitude will grow  beyond your imagination.  What we reap from that quality of sowing will be fruits ( success, relationships, acquisitions, etc.) born of gratitude; with an inherent quality of  gracious abundance.

So, before setting another goal in your life take stock of what you already have and be deeply grateful. From that place of joy, set your goals!

Wishing you an abundance of joy, love and gratitude,
